I attended a seminar on e-teaching recently. During the Q&A we arrived to the conclusion that there is no "one" approach that works best. There are nevertheless certain issues to be dealt with if the process is to result successful:
First, that all the technical aspects of the process work properly.
Second, that the teacher knows and uses these applications with confidence and is encouraged to try new things.
Third, feedback, feedback and more feedback from our students , is almost the only way to know if what we are doing is working or not. And I say almost, because each teacher has his/her own ways of evaluating.
When I was hired by an online english teaching company, one of the questions they asked me was: How would you manage the fact that the students will be holding a telephone on the other side of the line?
Well, I did many things, and I think I need to implement some more.
But it is the road what is more important, as well as seeing results in the middle.
Thanks
