Hello friends!
In case you are interested, I have scheduled two classes on grammar: Noun Phrases in Description of People- aimed at improving writting skills but useful for other skills development as well
Hope to see you there!

I would say a lifetime. It doesn´t seem very optimistic, but I think it´s true.

Then, each person has a very special combination of motivation, intelligences and interests that makes the teaching-learning experience unique and that makes it very difficult to define how long it will take for each person to improve a specific language skill.
As a general rule, to be able to speak more I would first increase the amount and quality of input on the target language; read more books, magazines and websites; listen to songs, watch films and look for opportunities of engaging in conversation with natives or other learners.
Hope this helps and never give up...

If you enroll to improve your English speaking skills, spending 1 or 2 hours a day speaking English in classes will not help.
What you really need is motivation and discipline so that even after the class is over, you are constantly pactising the language in your day to day work.
The best way is to use your hobby. If you love cooking buy cooking books in English language. If you love sports or entertainment then read newspaper and magazines articles in English to keep in touch with language. This way you will also discover new words for yourself.

Hi Amit!

In fact, it's not so easy to agree on how long it will take to have a good command of spoken English. It depends a lot on the exposure you have. It's not the same to have a couple of hours a week than to have a much longer one. And, of course, it greatly depends on your motivation and what you are willing to do outside the class!

Learning anything depends on your absorbing capacity, dedication and self confidence level..in addition to these you should come out the nutshell of your personal barriers....

It all depends on the kind of environment you are in.If the people around you are non English speaking, then it makes no difference whether you spend 2hrs or 3hrs a day on mastering English. So, in my opinion, simply set up an English environment around you. Right from the news broadcasts to the reading of English dailies one needs to focus on rigourous practise and once that sets in, its only a matter of days believe me, to conquer English.
